Beperking bezoek Lagoa do Fogo | Vakantie Azoren

Vanaf 15 juni heeft het Regionaal secretariaat voor toerisme, mobiliteit en infrastructuur van de Azoren besloten om tussen 15 juni en 30 september tussen 09:00 en 19:00 geen huurauto's meer toe te laten tussen Caldeira Velha (Ribeira Grande) en Casa da Agua (Lagoa) naar Lagoa do Fogo. Vanaf speciaal aangewezen parkeerplaatsen gaan shuttle bussen naar Lagoa do Fogo. De bussen stoppen op 6 verschillende uitkijkpunten. De tickets moeten vooraf worden aangeschaft, kosten ticket € 5,00. per persoon. De bussen rijden dagelijks ook op zon en feestdagen tussen 09:00 en 19:00. SHUTTLE SERVICE VULCÃO DO FOGO VISITING AREA

The Hop-On/Hop-Off bus shuttle service to the Vulcão do Fogo Visiting Area, starts on the 15th of June, and will operate until the 30th of September.

Traffic on the road between Caldeira Velha (Ribeira Grande) and Casa da Água (Lagoa), during this period, will be restricted to rent-a-car vehicles, but free to all other vehicles.

SCHEDULE

The shuttle service will operate between 09:00 am and 07:00 pm, every day of the week, including national, regional or municipal holidays.

ITINERARIES

Six stop points were created on the bus route, connecting Caldeira Velha car park, in Ribeira Grande, to the picnic area Remédios, in Lagoa, next to Casa da Água.

Itinerary A
Starting at Caldeira Velha, passing by the following points of interest: Miradouro da Bela Vista (viewpoint), Miradouro da Lagoa de Fogo (viewpoint), Pico da Barrosa, Casa da Água (Lagoa), returning by Pico da Barrosa, Miradouro da Lagoa de Fogo (viewpoint) and Miradouro da Bela Vista (viewpoint) and Caldeira Velha.

Itinerary B
Starting at Casa da Água and passing by the following points of interest: Pico da Barrosa, Miradouro da Lagoa de Fogo (viewpoint), Miradouro da Bela Vista, (viewpoint) Caldeira Velha, returning by Miradouro da Bela Vista (viewpoint), Miradouro da Lagoa de Fogo (viewpoint) and Pico da Barrosa, and Casa da Água (Lagoa).

USERS
Tourists travelling individually or in groups with a rental vehicle visiting this area must park on the Caldeira Velha or Casa da Água parking areas and use the available shuttle service.
Residents may use the shuttle service for free.

TRADE

Tour operators, travel agencies and outdoor activities companies, with tours that include Vulcão do Fogo Visiting Area (including Lagoa do Fogo viewpoint), as well as taxis, do not need to use the shuttle service, as there are available parking areas along the road, subject to conditions of use.

TICKETS
The tickets can be purchased previously online at https://lagoadofogo.pt/
and are also available for sale at São Miguel’s tourism establishments that join the ticketing system.

PRICE
Transport is free for citizens resident in the Autonomous Region of the Azores and costs 5 euros for non-residents.

PARKING
In total there are about 200 parking spaces:

Caldeira Velha Parking Lot (101 places) – free;
Parking Lot near Casa da Água (60 places) – free;
Lagoa do Fogo Viewpoint Parking Lot (48 places) – free for the first 20 minutes and paid for the following periods of time.
